When his Holiness Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace
be on him) was divinely instructed to take Oath
of Initiation and start a Jama’at, he published
an announcement on 1 December 1888, para-
phrased below:
“Another message that I wish to convey to the
people at large, and to my Muslim brothers in
particular, is that I have been commanded to
take oath of Initiation [bai’at] from seekers of
truth who wish to acquire true faith and purity;
who yearn to find the path to Allah’s love…”
