Press Release: Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA expresses grave concern at missile attacks on Syria

Written by | Politics, Society

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA expresses its grave concern at the repeated bombing of Syria. The Community expresses its deep remorse at the ongoing loss of life, and calls upon the United States and allied leaders to exercise restraint and uphold justice. Justice demands prudence, patience, and reverence for all human life. Hasty, ill-advised actions will lead to devastating consequences for the entire world.

“The Qur’an teaches that when two nations are in dispute and this leads to war,” said the Community’s National Vice President Dr. Nasim Rehmatullah while referencing a lecture from the Khalifa of Islam, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, “then other governments should strongly counsel them towards dialogue and diplomacy so that they can come to an agreement and reconciliation on the basis of a negotiated settlement.”

Failure to engage in peaceful negotiations ensures additional loss of life and misery, and increasingly risks war proliferation causing untold devastation. Rather than resorting to bombing each other, the Community implores international leaders to come to the negotiation table on the tenets of justice and fairness.
